Boxster Manual Spoiler Switch Malfunction

I am an owner of a 2003 Boxster and am troubleshooting a spoiler fault issue on my instrument cluster. The spoiler deploys and retracts automatically at designated speeds. However, I get a spoiler fault "Failure Spoiler Control" on my instrument cluster when the spoiler automatically deploys at speed. I have also noticed that my manual switch for spoiler up and down is also not working. Spoiler does not go up and down when I press the switch in the driver footwell inside the fuse cluster.

If anyone has encountered this problem, please share your troubleshooting and fix. At the very least I would like to find out how to remove the manual spoiler switch in the fuse box for replacement or troubleshooting.

Your switch plug in the fuse panel can be accessed by removing the four Phillips head fasteners and pulling out the panel. Make sure the plug is connected. Make sure terminal 4 has a ground. That wire is usually brown. When you push the switch to extend or retract. you are grounding the circuit and sends the signal to the instrument cluster. Try that first.

Thank you for the advice jwgn777. After disconnecting the battery, I will disassemble the fuse panel this weekend and test the ground and the switch for continuity. I have ordered a replacement switch from pelican parts just in case I need to replace the switch. Hoping it is just a lose connection or a bad switch.

Will post an update once I am through the first level of troubleshooting.

I pulled the fuse panel today and checked for any loose connections to the switch. Did not find any. I also checked continuity and found the switch in good condition. I rep lugged the switch plug back in to the switch tightly. Not sure if this a problem inside the instrument cluster. Attached is a photo of the fault I get when the spoiler is deployed automatically at speed.
