Lightbulb Cayman as DD in The D (Detroit)?

I am looking to buy a new to me Cayman as an only car for the Detroit area, any input as to if this is doable? Is the heater and defrost up to it? Other people drive bitty cars all winter so I'm not worried about the drivability. I have access to my wife's Durango, so it's not like I'll be stranded or anything. My 911SC doesn't have the heatpower to do it. Thanks.

It has plenty of heat capacity and defrost. Put on a set of Blizzaks on spare wheels but watch out for those famous crater sized potholes!

All the water cooled Porsches have modern and capable HVAC systems.

I've pushed 6" of snow off the top of a Boxster just to take it out because it was a nice day.

Pay attention to the common sense things, wipers, ww fluid, and above all tires that are at least all season or better yet winter on a spare set of rims.

It isn't a snowplow, doesn't have 12" of ground clearance. But for light snow, mine warmed the cabin easily within the first half mile.

I've driven my Boxster through 2 SE Mi winters with just a set of all-season on some 993 wheels. You'll have no problem, especially if you have full winter tires.

Agree with the other comments. My 03 Boxster has been my year round daily driver since fall 2006. Blizzards are great, I have been running Pilot Alpins and they are also very good winter tires.
