986 center console delete WTF
 

Working on the delete. moved all the stuff around to get the radio and climate control up top. got the part (986-552-113-02). The part shows Boxster 986 (1997-2004) (up Through 99). I have a 2001.

The holes don't seem to line up... Has anyone else seen this and found a work-around? I'm curious about rattles and squeaks even though it looks like the middle console will hold it down some. I've squished and shoved this thing as far back as I think it will go.)

(driver's side has the carpet panel removed. i think a short-shifter is called for. adding some electronics to put a USB charger and AUX in the arm-rest console)
