Rear Driverside Wheel not rotating smoothly when raised - 2001 986 S / 110K Miles

I've noticed a strange problem. When the car is raised and I put the transmission in drive, the rear passenger wheel seems to spin smoothly while the driver side wheel spins much slower and eventually stalls. This sets off the ABS light.

I've checked the parking brakes, rear brakes and they seem fine. Also, no noise from the wheel bearing and I assume thats fine as well. No clunks or whine from the CV Joint, Tranny / Differential. The wheel seems to spin freely when in neutral.

With the car lowered back on ground, the ABS light disappears within a few seconds of driving. I dont notice any loss of power when driving and there is no unusual tire wear.

So what am I missing? Is this how the car is designed?

Thanks ,

Illusionist.

It's simply the way the differential is working..... With no load on the driveline it'll do odd things. ... Nothing to worry about imo
