Wheel liner / radiator vent

Looking around and searching the web . I recalled a mention of an available "extreme weather" wheel liner .
My understanding is that as an option the "venting" is more open .
I looked at my '07 C7S and sure enough not all of the molded sections of the vent are open .

Just thinking that this being open sure wouldn't hurt and should aid in cooling .
I will try to take some actual car photos ... but just wondering if anyone can confirm this and additional input as far as a cooling aid input welcome
