Will low back-pressure ON JUST ONE BANK be bad...
...for a 30 mile drive to my friend's shop to repair the exhaust bolts I broke over the weekend? (Sorry about shouting!)
Two of the three studs at the bottom of the exhaust manifold snapped off as I was replacing the axle this weekend. I don't have a torch at my place but my friend said I can stop over tomorrow & we'll take care of them. It's loud but that doesn't bother me; I'm only worried about doing damage. The issue is that it will be about a 30 mile run with a small gap between the triangular flanges. The pre-cat (I believe that's what is built into the exhaust manifold) would be the only thing providing back-pressure on the driver's side. Is that bad for anything involved? Engine, valves, the pre-cat itself, etc.?

You're not going to hurt anything.

I had no problems, not even a CEL. I was actually expecting it to throw some kind of emissions code but there was nothing! All good & the complete axle replacement cost me less than $150, including replacing the three studs on the exhaust flange.
