Hi. I did a search. But cannot find. My friends 08 Cayman that he bought new has a blue dot on the bottom of the motor. Does anyone know why? Thank you, Nick

Replacement motors are supposed to have blue paint on them.

My friend went to the dealer for service and a mechanic came over and said my friends 08 Cayman had a engine swap at the factory! (blue paint) So my friend bought a brand new 08 Cayman refurb for $64,000???????? Holy Cow!

Blue paint dabs are used to mark engines that don't pass testing at the factory. They get recycled back to the engine assembly area. Here they are remanufactured & retested. These engines often become problematic!
