Radio and dash light stay on?

Ok I bought a 1999 Boxster base. No problems really. I have had it for about 2 weeks. Now when I first turned it off, the radio and lights on dash would stay on for a few secs and then turn off (when key was taken out of ignition). Now for the last few days, the radio will stay on, as will the dash lights. If I go back inside and turn the key over, but not start it and then remove it, they go off. But only after I do it for a couple of times.

I have been told it is the ignition switch. It's not happening all the time though which is why I am a bit perplexed. Any ideas what it could or could not be? Not sure what is going on. Thoughts?
