[URGENT HELP!!!} I have a 1997 Boxster 2.5L, shut the door and now the door wont open from inside/outside using key. Anyone know encountered this before or know how to open the door for my circumstance so that I can open the door panel? Thank you in advance!

Jeff - Australia, Perth

This is a pain. The only way is to remove the door panel and then fix the mechanism / jigger the mechanism to get the door open. I've personally never had to do this, thankfully. I suggest that you lower the roof, and then carefully remove the passenger seat - should make the whole process tremendously easier. I'll copy this question to the forums too, to see if anyone else has any other suggestions.

Hi Jeff

You can try this not sure if it will work in your case though, I assume the top is down and you can get in the car.
You need to sit in the car, lock with remote key fob, pull passenger (inside) door handle, then lock with remote again. Repeat this until the fob stops responding, then stick key in ignition start car, stop car, remove key and repeat the process until the door finally opens.

After this point do NOT double click the fob lock (i.e. deadlock) or your back at square one.

I have a 2001 Boxster S and my passenger door would not open from the inside or outside. I dug deep in the forums and found this posting. It worked! Many thanks for posting this.
