The top is in great shape, but the plastic froze, and cracked. Is it possible to re-sew the plastic without removing the top? Do boat yards do this?

I had to replace mine because after it was repaired it did not stop leaking. I replaced the entire top with a new one. Decent prices can be found on EBAY.
Also, pay a little bit more and buy the one with the glass window. |

Yes it can be replaced. You can sew one in or a shop can do it.
http://sites.google.com/site/mikefocke2/havingareplacementplasticwindowsewnin Depends on the shop's equipment how they could do it. If they don't have the huge arm sewing machine capability and you have to remove the top from the frame, might as well get a new one and the glass windows are handy to prevent this problem and allow you not to worry about the temperature when lowering or raising the window. Instructions for doing that are on the same site. |
