instrument lamps
The instrument started flashing. checked today and stayed on for about 30 seconds then started to flash and noticed a wif of smoke from top of instrument panel. where do i start with this or do i remove the cluster and look for a short? where is the dimmer located? Thanks in advance, Ed

The dimmer is the stem on the left of the tachometer near the top of the cluster. If you look closely, it has a light bulb on it. The stem has two functions. You push it in to reset the trip odometer and your turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the brightness of the cluster lighting.
