Porsche Crest Variocam Plus and oil question...

I have an April-2005 build 987 Boxster 2.7 with M6/25 engine and I wanted to go to a heavier oil but I am a bit unclear if i should. I live in Miami and the car is just 233 miles shy of reaching the 100,000 mile milestone. I've read that the Variocam Plus system must stay with 0W40 because of the way the oil is used in the hydraulic system involved with the VarioCam Plus timing. I've also read differing information about when Porsche began implementing the system on our cars. Some say they started with 2005 987's M96/25-26's others say later in 2007, M97 series.

My questions are:
-Does the M96/25 engine have VarioCam Plus?
-When did the first boxster appear with VarioCam Plus?
-What is the heaviest oil I should use with my engine in hot climate?
-Would you rather lose your porsche or... wait... never mind?
