what engine is in an 2005 / 2.7 boxster?

good morning all,

Viewed & deposited on a 2005 boxster (987) on the basis it was an m97 engine. Never checked myself & somehow I've now managed to convince myself it might be m96.

Only information I can find online says the 3.2s was m96 until 06, nothing on the 2.7, can anyone confirm?

Thanks

check the stamping on the bottom of the engine. Engine type (M96 or M97) is part of the engine serial number.
