Hi, Thanks for a lot of informative instructions. I also just have a problem with my 2004 Boxster top. Last week, when I lowered it down to get to the engine, but I I put it back up, I heard a clicking sound and the top only rose to about half way closed. When I lower it down, it only move a little bit then stop. After keeping pressing the switch up & down serveral times & pull it by hand, I manage to have it close up but the light on the dash still lit up. Now if I open it, it will only go about 10" then stop, won't open all the way anymore.
Also, when the top was down, I noticed the transmission cover plastic piece are off, which scratched by the levels when it moves. Would it be the cables are bad? Can you help? Thanks __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: |

It's possible you have a bad cable, but it sounds like the top is getting caught on something. Have an assistant operate the top and look at the levers. See if they are getting stuck anywhere in the top travel. Remedy that issue and check the cables, you should be fine.
