Hi Nick,
I put a post on regarding my 1999 Boxster with noisy tappet noise, just sounds like one tappetish notice. The smoke coming from the exhaust is grey but not massive amounts. Nick, you mentioned oil pressure issue. Can this be resolved simply? Sorry am not a mechanic.

If oil pressure is the cause, you would have to find the area of loss. Most times points to work engine components. If you suspect low pressure, check it to be sure. It may confirm this is not your issue.

OH Henry,
You need an M96 specialist IMHO. There are endless Posts about this noise and we seldom do much good with a keyboard !
A competent Indie with a stethoscope will be able to locate the area of the noise and speculate about the cause/remedy.
