Seized fuel pumps(3)
A friend has a 2000 Boxster S. The fuel pump failed, so he changed the pump and filter. The car then ran about 100 miles then dies with another pump failure. 100 miles later, same thing.
I inspected the 2nd pump failure and fund it to be seized. No debris is found in the tank. Some bits of the impeller found in the pump bottom. My suspicion is some debris from somewhere in the fuel system is getting back into the pump upon re-circulation, but that is only a guess. Any parts that could be causing the problem? Defective fuel filter? Any suggestions?

The fuel pump requires fuel to cool it.W/o fuel it will seize. Ergo a blockage in fuel supply?
