window problem
 

I have a1997 Boxter. Passenger side window has been making a grinding noise when rolling up. Yesterday it was down (with Top in Up position) when I activated the up switch the window rose to about 2 inches then quit. I can still lower the window but it still stops at 2 inches. The motor looks to be working OK and the grinding noise is gone but it won't go upand further. have removed the door panel and cannot see any obvious damage or broken parts. So?
