2002 s engine into 99 boxster
greetings
I want to let boxster owners know it can be done by the right people cheaply and reliably. i own a 99 boxster whose ims failed at 129k. I posted requests for info on how to install a 2002s engine into the 99 chassis. and lee and his father Marcello at hybrid motors in Fairview nj did the job. the mods give a substantial kick to the original performance with which I am intimately familiar. here are the mods: Ecu 996. 3.4 mechanical throttle Drilled and tapped cylinder heads for a 3.4 manifold. 2.5 wire harness modified, Added white wire to ECU connector to activate manifold switch over valve. Used early 996 throttle and crossover pipe to 3.5 inches, 90° silicone elbow to 3.5 mass airflow housing. Insert 996 Mass air flow sensor into the housing Cayman S airbox, trim engine bay one quarter inch by cylinders 123 Use 2.5 L fuel rail, Cayman S engine cover, adjust fuel trims. Engine not lowered. The car easily goes in 4th where 3rd was the rule. probably 280-90hp. 24-6mpg after 2k miles. Total expenses: $4000 for a used 3.2 engine, $600 for the parts listed, and $3500 for labor. |
