Hello,

If the double row bearing is widerdeeper than the single row. Does that mean the recess in the ims shaft is deeper for the double vs the single row and therefore the two ims
shafts are not interchangeable?

Thanks
Clint

The IMSB is not interchangeable between different design shafts.

The IMS is interchangable between engines as long as the crankshaft drive gear matches the IMS drive gear. The IMS drive gear was improved during 2001,along with the weaker single row IMSB, so if you have a 2001 engine it could be either design. The LN IMSB PRO is a dual row bearing that can be installed in a single row IMS, The LN Solution is a better solution as it eliminates the roller bearing altogether.

I thought they were ball bearings (factory), not roller bearings...

Yes OE IMSB's are ball bearings, I was trying to differentiate from the Solution which is a solid "bushing" type bearing.

Isn't one (some) of the aftermarket bearings roller bearings?

and there is the 'bushing' bearing, too.
