I am asking to know, for a porsche boxster 987: when the lever is on M from D gearing can be handle without using the buttons on strearing wheel? I have never used the lever on M position and i am wondering why gear is not shifted from 1 to 2-3-4-5-S by itself. For exable on BMW models/tiptronic when i shift the lever to the left, the engine become in sport style. Thanks

Check your owner's manual. I think the buttons have to be used to shift.
