2008 Boxster Speakers
I am sure I am not the first or the last to ask this question, but I am wanting to upgrade the stereo system in my 08 Boxster (without Bose). I was told by an audio shop today that the door speakers are 8" and 3.5". Has anyone found direct replacement speakers for this year and model of Porsche?

I have heard the rear PNA 986 kit fits perfectly into the newer 987s, but I believe that's Bose. If you're going to an audio store they should have something that will directly fit into your 987. Are you wanting to do a sub as well (a custom audio setup)? I'd also probably suggest you give one of our P car specialist a call (888.280.7799) as I know we sell Clarion stereo systems, but not sure if we have any that will work for your Boxster. They might be able to provide additional advice on what to go with though.

Quick google search shows that the front door speakers are actually 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 for the non-Bose setup. 3.5 tweeters sound a bit too big, though I couldn't find a source to confirm. Clarion has a great sound quality, so if they have the correct sizes, buy with confidence. If not, I would look to see if MB Quartz has the appropriate size, as those speakers are generally recognized as being some of the best quality build/sound for cars. Best of luck!

Does Crutchfields still sell this sort of stuff
and know the sizes and resistances?

I'm sure that Crutchfield still has auto options. That may be a good place to start if the Clarion system isn't a match.
