Hi: My 2001 Boxster when started cold is idling very rough. Once it warms up the idling gets smooth and normal. I ran a test and got the following codes:
P0300 Porsche fault code 62-Misfire damage to cat, converter P0301 Porsche fault code 63-Cylinder 1 misfire damaging to cat. converter, P0303 Porsche fault code 65-Cylinder 3 misfire damaging to cat. converter P0302 Porsche fault code 64-Cylinder 2 misfire damaging to cat. converter P0305 Porsche fault code 67-Cylinder 5 misfire damaging to cat. converter Is there any chance this is related to the coils that might need replacement or could be something else?. Spark plugs has not been changed in years. The car only has 22k miles. Thanks, JC __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: Porsche Boxster Spark Plugs and Coils Replacement - 986 / 987 (1997-08) - Pelican Parts Technical Article |

Sounds like it could use a maintenance. If the issue is there after the maintenance, check the crankcase vacuum. Should never be higher than 5 inches of water. If the CCV is higher (numerically) than that the AOS needs to be replaced. Also seen on some lo mile cars that the fuel pumps get weak. So check the fuel pressure as well.
