Canvas Roof Care - Mould !!- Advice wanted please

My Boxster lives outside, under trees in the variable climate we have in the UK.
The roof canvas is attracting a certain green mould which seems to form in spots.
I intend to give the hood a really solid scrub and clean to hopefully get rid of this green stuff.
I could do with some advice on what product I can apply after the clean and method of application to give the hood both a better appearance and hopefully aid with waterproofing.
Can you advise please?
