Headlight to body seals

The headlights on my 03 boxster have headlight to body seals around most of the assembly. Part of the seal is like rubber and part seems like butyl which is a bit sticky and pliable. At any rate I need a replacement seal because part one is missing. Does anyone know where this seal can be purchased new. Alternately does anyone have a method to replace them with something just as good? Thanks.

Unfortunately, Porsche does not sell the seal separately, and there are no after market seals available. You will have to make something yourself,

The seals were the subject of some postings within the last few weeks on one of the Boxster forums. Poke around and see if anything came of it. People were, like you, frustrated that the only fix was a new headlight assembly.

One such here.

Read this thread w some interest and what came to mind is: when replacing the screen on a homes window/door. They sell (home d) a rounded rubber gasket that gets pushed into the window channel to hold in the screen. Just wondering if this would fit your application? You would need to glue it around the perimeter of the light but it is rather thin and comes in grey(maybe black). I've never done this type or repair but might work for your application?

Read somewhere that people were using Frost King AA20Br to solve this problem....haven't tried it yet, just passing it on at this time. If you try this "fix" please post your experience!
