Well as it happens I'm pulling into the driveway on a beautiful sunny day, and wouldn't you knows the roof won't close. Not a sound, movement nothing. So I go to 101 and looked up the process for the emergency roof closure, and forgot to do my usual mantra of taking a picture of what I'm going to take off, so that I wouldn't have any trouble getting it back on.
I'm referring to these listed as 986.561.445.0x, as pictured. I have a very uninformative schematic of what it is with the surrounding parts, but I tried to use it to put them back, but I must be a dunce! Does anyone have a good clear picture of these parts in place with the top down, so that I can put them in? As for closing the roof, I thought real hard and tried jumping the roof relay before I mangled anything. Yep, that was it. Ordered a used but working one on eBay. ![]()

What does the other side of the part look like? Took a look at mine yesterday and my impression is they just snap into retaining clips of some kind. Do you have any leftover hardware?

Here's the other side of it, as from an eBay post.
![]() If you could take a couple of cell-phone shots of what yours look like in situ, and reply with the photos, that would help me greatly.

Roger that, the two clips are formed steel (spring). Hope you have those. This is the drivers side.[

Looks like those spring tabs just slip over the guide arm.
