a/c caused engine temp change

I have noticed lately, that the engine temp gauge creeps up, when the a/c, is running, this was very, noticed, when we had a 100 degree day, and was in slow traffic. the gauge was too close to red for my comfort level. once out at highway speed the temp went more to normal. common?SmileWavy

I'd go through basics, making sure the coolant level is up. It probably needs to have the rads and condensers cleaned out(IE pull off front bumper cover). I just did ours this past weekend, and it dropped the running temps by 5-10 degrees and the fan rarely comes on now. These cars like to stay cool. If it's a base, might be worth upgrading the oil cooler to the S/996 version down the line.

Check that your ac fans are working. Start the car, turn in the ac and then go listen at each front corner fan. Bets are one is not working.
