question for boxster air-condition failor

i have a question concerning a strange behavior of my air-condition system in my 2001 boxster S usually it works but sometimes it fails during process and then when i press "off" the button in the cabin and again after few minute "on" it works again as if nothing happened. my mechanic couldn't find the reason since the compressor is working . is it a problem in the computer or other device that orders the computer to stop the air-condition from working and when i shut the system down and open it again it restart and works. by the way this problem occurs once in a month or more so its really strange. i 'd like to know if anyone has any suggestion how to find the problem and fix it its a sort of mystery.

Hello - did your mechanic pull any codes during their diagnosis?

there was no codes calling. is it possible that the clutch/compressor is tired/ old. cause it works but sometimes loses its power and than when i turn it off and on again it regain power.
