Dash instruments dead. Constant DINGING

Hi, fellow Porsche fanatics. I'm new to this site and new 2001 Boxster S owner. Just had it delivered and the battery was dead. I charged it and started the car - NICE SOUND!. My issue is this: although I have all accessories working (lights, AC fan, radio, turn sig, etc.) my instruments do not come alive. In addition, even with the key out, and lights confirmed off, I have a constant dinging sound coming from the dash area.

Any trouble shooting advice? Thanks in advance.

You might consider going through the basics:
1) with voltmeter, check the battery and charging (load, no load check)
2) check the fuses
3) check the OBD system for trouble codes (wt software like durametric to obtain factory DTC's)
Congrats on the car, best of luck with it. Like any used car, might need a little going through.
Regards
