2003 Boxster fuel leak
I just acquired a 2003 Boxster. It had not been driven in a year......the battery was not chargeable so I put in a new one.
Started fine but I had a strong fuel smell. Traced it to a brittle leaking plastic coupling on the cover under the battery. Just got a new assembly as I exhausted any fix ideas. Will put it in tomorrow AM when I am rested.....should fix the leak. Will let you know. My indie Porsche guy tells me this is sort of common on the Boxster.

installed the tank float part and the leak is now fixed.
Part was expensive, but it was the only way to repair the leak. Got a few miles on the car and all works well. Thanks Wayne for the Boxster repair and modification book...that and the Bently manual were great for this 911 old hand bu Boxster newby. And thanks TRE for the help too.

I used Wayne's 101 book and the Bentley book for information.

FUEL leak is stopped after several days of use, so I guess I got it.
