Intermittent window drop/ no manual key open
 

Hi just bought a 2002 Boxter 2.7, and discovered that the drivers door window doesn't always drop.
Also the door doesn't open manually using the key in the lock.
Apparently there is a window "up" function on the door lock that isn't working.
Any ideas?
