Engine compartment soundproofing

986 boxster
Can anyone recommend an engine compartment soundproofing other than oem?

also any tricks you are willing to share in removing the existing product would be appreciated.

I have the engine out and the existing product is falling off.

thank you.

Only thing I can think of is going to a boat shop that services big yachts as they use sound deadening material in the engine/generator rooms with diesels.

You can try something like Dynamat for a sound deadner; not sure if you can entirely soundproof the compartment. Depending on the thickness of the material, you may be able to eliminate most of the noise though. Hope this helps a bit and best of luck!

Do a search on this.

I put it on my Cayman engine cover today. No test drive yet.

I think i would see at what temp it starts get to soft or melt before I went down the road. Gets pretty hot in that bay.
