I replaced my S exhaust with a stock Cayman R exhaust, it sounded much better. Slightly larger diameter pipes - there was a noticeable loss of low end torque. I found it in the classifieds here.

I would also consider a stock exhaust with the Carnewal modification. Cantrell Motorsports in Washington has the license in US.

This is the video that I thought best captured the difference in sound between Carnewal and stock.

A little more info on this topic from me: just last week I just had Cantrell modify the stock exhaust on my 2.7. My goal was purely sound character - wasn't looking to be a lot louder and car has plenty of power for a street car. So I've been driving it for a week and here are my impressions.

1) Cantrell is great to work with. Highly recommend. I am lucky enough to be local - they had the car for a day - dropped it off on the way to work, picked up at the end of the day

2) The sound = uh, yeah, it's really super good. Gives the exhaust some much need rasp, a little bit of subtle burble on the overrun, and at full throttle above 4k "that's how a flat six sounds" - it's got that sweet motorsport pitch at higher rev that is hard to describe, but you know it when you hear it.

3) For normal driving, it's just a bit louder under 3k rpm, not enough to be annoying. It promises no drone, but it does resonate a little for me between 2300 and 2800 - not much louder than stock, just a tone that cuts through more. Easily mitigated with the throttle, so I like it it. When at steady state, especially on the highway, it's no more intrusive than stock. In spirited driving (more than half throttle), it can get loud; exactly what I want. Basically, the throttle is now the "sports exhaust" button.

The fact that it is visually stock and I didn't have to find a spot to store another exhaust is a huge bonus.

Carnewall with the TT end pipes
no drone, not abnoxious around town either

but good rumble and better low & midrevs

The way it should have been from the factory
