Paging JFP in PA

My Cayman emergency hood release cable is routed in a way that it could never work. It was wrapped around a wire harness on its way to the fender well. I can not see any retainers or guides for it to follow. There are 2 clips that retain that wire harness but I do not think the cable should go there. I doubt it would work if it did. Any ideas ?? I have a service manual in PDF format on another laptop. I will look for a diagram there but I dont have much faith.

A picture might help him visualize your situation.

Any sign of any hacks, aftermarket installs, etc in that area? Accident repairs?

No pic for now. Its all back together. Carfax said no crashes but that does not mean much. No obvious body work but it just looks like something is missing. Cable is just laying there. If I pull it it just binds up and will not pull the latch cable back.

That cable should not be wrapped around anything.

I unwrapped it but still do not see how it will work. Soon I will install an external harness that will let me charge the battery, hood closed.
