Porsche Crest Stalling Problem Porsche 911

I stalled out a couple of times on my normally reliable 1987 Porsche 911 Targa, which has 190,000 miles on it. I tried a new fuel pump--it couldn't hurt and it's fairly easy to do yourself. Plus, I found some sketchy fuel lines in the process. That wasn't it. I replaced the DME relay under the driver's seat. That wasn't it, but now I have an extra relay. I ended up with the probability of it being the DME itself (also under the driver's seat). I looked at solutions that ranged from many hundreds to several thousand, and that's when I happened to find System SC in the LA area. For 45 bucks he was willing to look at the DME to see if it had a problem (it did). In the end it cost me $375 for a rebuilt DME, which includes an upgrade in the computer chip that really improves performance. The whole process only took a couple of days, and the car runs like new. I haven't had it out of 3rd gear yet because of a thing called speed laws, but I'm driving it to Borrego Springs this weekend.
