Looking for a muffler
Does anyone within 200km of me have a muffler that'll fit my 72 911T they'd like to get rid of? My is pretty much shot but I don't want to buy new because I'm considering doing a full exhaust upgrade next year, so I just need something to get me through this season.
Thanks! Chris

my car was imported by them in 1990.. so they've been in the game for quite some time... I'd love to make a trip to check them out. they're only about 20 mins from me..

Porschapart is in the middle of a huge move further north. They are still taking orders though, I believe. I think that Chris knows them well and had a bad experience. I find them to be high priced but have a huge inventory of parts and motors.

high priced?
that's disappointing... i thought because of the huge inventory, it might be a lil cheaper... wishful thinking i suppose...

I've got a one in one out from my 79. I don't know if this will work on yours but it's for sale.

Reg:
Email sent, your pm box is full. Bob: Thanks, but a single in won't fit on my car - need a dual in. I've bought a couple things from Porschapart, in fact I was on the phone with Frank yesterday. I wouldn't say I had a bad experience, he just sold me the wrong fuel pump once, (MFI vs. carbs) and even though he insisted it came off a car with Zeniths, the part # checked out as an MFI pump, so there must've been a pressure regulator on the other car. He exchanged it for a Carter (aftermarket US pump, much cheaper than Bosch) but there was no wiring or mounting harness for it, so I had to improvise (which left me stranded in a parking lot, but, in the immortal words of Hammy Hamster, that's another story...) So I wouldn't say it was exactly a bad experience, but I wasn't the most satisfied customer. I've been back since, but perhaps would've been back significatly more often had I not had that experience. In many ways he's the best bet around here for bulkier items, because shipping into Canada from the US is so expensive. For things like wheels, seats, or in my case a muffler, it's way easier to drive an hour and save at least $100. Of course, now that he's moving another 45 min. north, that's less likely. Be careful, though, if you go into the main warehouse room (behind the front showroom) because all those smashed up cars can be quite painful to look at! As for pricing I don't think he's that bad. More expensive than buying off the classifieds here, but again, you're saving shipping, duty, etc. Probably works out at least equal, plus you get your stuff faster.

I found Porschapart to be rather expensive. They quoted me $180 plus GST plus shipping for a used 964 tail light. It's no problem to find them stateside for $100 US.

Porschapart had a pair of early sport seats for 1600 I passed on a couple years ago.
