I hope they donít ding me on stuff like hood and luggage compartment shocks. Both sets on mine are weak and donít stay up very well. I've been focusing my efforts on getting the known issues repaired before the inspection. Getting the windshield washers to function, hi/lo beam switch replacement, new air cleaner, etc. I think she'll pass the test, but I'm still nervous. After all itís an unrestored 35 year old car. Getting my wallet prepared for the worst....
Thanks for the advise.

If you can wait a bit, I would do what Jp-op recommended

I've seen a 993 GT2 on a lift at his place. He is going to be refurbing my suspension in a couple of weeks as a result of my recent rear sway bar bracket debacle.

Now let,s discuss What,s involved exporting or reimporting a US car back to the US.
With the dollar where it is I have a 1995 993 I am putting up for sale this spring.
I know the car will probably sell to the US.

Brought this '70 911T sunroof coupe from Tucson to Lewiston NY in Spring 2013 via enclosed trailer, crossed the border, and drove it home to Toronto.

My 03 C4S is a U.S. car and I'm wondering what process a U.S. buyer would have to
go thru to purchase it from me here in Canada and get it back to the U.S.

The sale needs to occur in Canada. You can't take the car across to a car show or something like that and sell it there. A dealer probably can but private seller can't. The buyer doesn't physically need to come to Canada think eBay sale but the sale technically occurs in Canada. If originally a us car the buyer can import it duty free. I sold a 1966 mustang over the phone the buyer wired the funds and arranged a shipper come get it. Another one I sold was a 1972 Corvette buyer from Detroit came saw the car gave me a deposit and returned a week later with the balance and a trailer. Both these cars had originally been sold and registered in the USA. My 993 eventually sold to a dealer in Quebec.
There is a page on the us cbp website about importing a car. It is greatly simplified if the car was previously registered in the USA. The emissions label will verify that the car was built for the us market.
