Possible 89 Cab Parts for Sale
If my 89 is a write-off, would anyone have interest in purchasing the major components. The damage is on the front and the frame was bent. However, the engine was not touched and I drove it off the road.
Major items from a car that just came up from California: - top and bottom rebuilt engine - G50 tranny - turbo twist rims and new SO2 tires - new top - new tan leather seats - whale tail - etc, etc I wouldn't want to ship things so it would be a purely come and get them sale. I should know in the next couple of days on the status of the car but just trying to gauge potential interest. Thanks |

I'd be interested in the tail if you'd be willing to ship. My mother lives in Whitby....depending where you are in TO, I might be able to talk her into picking it up for me.
How much are you looking to get out of it?

I dont have prices yet as i am still negotiating with the insurance company. Once thats resolved i can get back to everyone to confirm its officially up for sale and we can talk prices. Would consider shipping for the right deals.
Thanks |

Looks like the sale is off as the insurance company has "readjusted" the value that they were going to allow me to buy the car for.
Thanks for the interest though |

I had the exact experience with my insurance company. Would have ended up costing me almost 10K to buy the wreck. And then the pain of selling the bits.
Grab anything not tied down before you release the car. "I am just going to get my plates". Let's see, tonneau cover, tool kit, spare, jack, stereo, seats...no wait those are bolted in and might be missed. Seriously, my company would let me take the Fuchs, if I put rollers on the car. A bit of a hassle but might add some cash to the settlement and a new ?964, ?993. Lawrence

The tonneau cover they would never miss....and that's worth $300 bucks. I would absolutely take that for your next cab.....it fits on a 993 and 964.

I think vern1's experience is a good reminder to us all that the 19A insurance form is the contract to get for our older cars. This will ensure we get the appraised value in case the unthinkable happens, and not some claims adjuster's "mysterious cash value" figure. I am considering switching insurers, since PC Financial doesn't offer the 19A, but only the 19.
