Saskatchewan road trip.

My son wants to travel to Saskatchewan in the summer and is looking for pictures and advice on what he can experience while there.
Anyone from this province that can shed so light on this.
There is not too much available as far as tips and tourist spots to visit.
He's hoping to be traveling in his 70 type 3 VW Squareback.

Hi Larry,

Depending on what he likes to do Saskatoon has something going on nearly every week throughout the summer. Jazz festival, fringe festival etc. If he comes to Saskatoon tell him to hang around the meewasin trail (river) and Broadway Avenue. There is alot of resturants, lounges, etc. Also a trip into Northern Saskatchewan is great in the summer. Lots of lakes and beautiful scenery. There is also an air cooled vw shop in Saskatoon if he runs into trouble with his squareback. It is called aircooled classics.. They sell parts and fix em as well. I hope this helps a little.

Yep, he'll fit right in should he decide to go. I took the T34 out there a few years ago, and had a great time. Very friendly group.

Before he drives off into the sunset chasing his Saskatchewan dreams, you'll probably want to doublecheck he's packed his emergency kit of spare parts and tools. Saskatchewan highways have some looooooong stretches where simply getting a cell phone signal is difficult, let alone finding a mechanic that would even be able to find the engine on his T3.

He should swing by Rouleau while they're filming Corner Gas too! That's what I want to do. Lots of beautiful camping and fishing spots further north too - Sasky isn't all wheat fields! Cypress Hills is on the list too if he stays south.
