That's All Folks!

I had the SC out for a couple of drives this past weekend, put Sta Bil in the tank and filled it up and parked it. Looking at the snow outside that arrived last few evenings I can safely say the season is over in Calgary.
Pretty crappy year for the most part. Spring was slow to come, summer was almost non existent, but late September, October and half of November made up for it.
I have a list of projects as long as my arm to do, but family and renovations will come first.
What are your plans?
PS: The first day of spring is only 4 months away!

Billy

I saw the snow you guys got on the news this morning.

We got snow on Halloween eve but the temperature has been nice since (50F)

I've been driving with the top down the last two week-ends, came across another cab last weekend.

This week-end could be the last drive.

Got about 4 months of projects to do.

JJ

Hey Bill

Having spent most of my chilhood & teen years in the Stampede City, the one thing I learned is a 'for-sure' in Calgary - "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute". Good luck on your 'renos' & your projects.

Cheers
JB

Out here still no snow. Hopefully IF it ever stops raining, I'll get the car out for a last drive this weekend!

I keep hearing about snow in different areas of southern Ontario, but so far I have yet to lay eyes on a single flake! The worst I've seen is brine solution north of Toronto, but so far nothing here, so she's still on the road!

I bailed on the year about a week before you did. We had +20's a couple weekends ago and put 400 miles on the SC. Figured that was the end of the good times this year.

But, it is at the door end of the garage and pointed facing the street in case the weather does smarten up.

Brine lines all over the on/off ramps of the 401 here east of the GTA
Been done since the 1st. I don't drive on even a hint of brine.

Pretty nasty, but that is just the way it works out here.
This winter has been predicted to be an La Nina year. More consistent (cool) temperatures and more snow.
Going to attempt to get my son skiing this year.

Winter hit southern Alberta this week. Snow, blow and cold.

The SC opening one eye to check if it is spring yet:

Nope, time to go back to hibernation.

Suggestion for anyone with a no-heat garage:

For many winters, I've kept the inside of the vehicles toasty and moisture-free by making a special little stand with an outdoor 100W bulb and keep it on the floor passenger side.

Then I cover the cars with old comforters or sleeping bags and even with minus -20 outside, the inside stays around plus +5.

Works really well. Make a little stand for the bulb so it doesn't touch anything.

I do a lot of driving in Spring/Summer to make up for the long winter.

Now the snow is here and I live with anticipation for the annual trip to Hawaii in February.

Thumbs up

Try Nordic skiing; great cardio-vascular, muscle-toning and better oxygen-perfusion. After a good run, you'll feel like a Million $.
I think Cypress and Seymour have facilities?

Something to cheer you up:

Pretty soon from this:

Strangely that doesn't cheer me up at all!
Maybe because I am not the person going....
Have fun on your trip.
