HELP - Transmission needed

Hi all, my car is sittting in pieces at the transmission shop. I am told to try and find another one since this one is cracked and in bad shape. The transmission is a 1972 915 5 speed. I don't know what else will work, but open to suggestions. Any help would be appreciated.

Brian

72-86 will work but if your car is an 89 you are suppose to have a G50 not a 915
contact Mark Henry. Think he does rebuilds so may have one or know of one

I don't have one, sorry.

Sounds like the ring and pinion let go, pretty well toast if that's what happened. Some bits might be salvageable, but I'd have to see it.
If you find one and want me to go through it let me know.

Good luck.
Cheers Mark

Thanks everyone. I am having one rebuilt at WhaleTail in Waterloo. Should be done in a few weeks.
