Finally fired them up!

Nice night couldn't wait, put the battery in the 911 and fired her up, sprang to life and quickly developed a big oil leak :( smoke everywhere. As the motor was done a bit over a year ago she's going back to the shop to fix it up.

Jimmied the cars around (big roll off bin in the driveway) and was able to move the Cayman out and ran around the block. Cayman got the prime spot in the garage as I'm cleaning her up and driving her tomorrow, the 911 goes behind the bin until she goes into the shop.

Can't wait to drive the car! I love the spring car fun after a long winter.... :D

I fired up the wife's 944 Sunday with the new(ish) motor, good oil pressure and it ran for 15 minutes without going bang like the last replacement motor I put in. Hopefully this is the end of a 4 year recovery from spinning a bearing during a track day :(

Now it is the turn of the 914, need to finish the 5 lug conversion and get it on the road this summer.

Been driving the 914 ....roof off for 6 weeks in the Okanagan.:p its amazing what an 8 hour drive east gets you.
Summer is coming boys...hang in there

Same here on Sunday....I fired up the SC first....unplugged the trickle charger...turned the key and, bang...she fired up right away as if I'd been driving her all winter...pretty impressive for a 33 year old car!

The 997...same thing...no issues on start up!

Yep, same here, too. This season of Sprinter is really taking its toll on my ability to drive the 911.

I'm bringing her down from Edmonton this coming weekend, so I fired her up last Friday for a few minutes to ensure things were all still good and the new battery wasn't going to give me any issues. Not a drop of oil on the floor, and ohhh, the sound...

Sounds like a familiar story...
I bought a scissor lift off of Kijiji and wanted to make sure the SC would start so I could move it out of the way.
Hard charge then a trickle overnight. Caught on the 5th revolution and fired up no smoke.
I did take it for a little run around the neighborhood.

I have over 500 kms on the Slantnose this week and I loaned it to a buddy whose brother is unwell for the evening. I got 30 miles on the 76 turbo last night.

Anyone want to meet for coffee?

stealthn 04-27-2013 08:00 AM

I'd be up for coffee, I've got my TPMS now so I have to get the cayman up to get the wheels off so I can transfer the tires to the new wheels, I'm so excited to get the lobster forks off :D

At last got some decent weather this past weekend here in Manitoba!

Took the 911 out yesterday, she started right up and went for a nice little drive! :D

Been running the 930 the last couple of weeks, still getting used to the boost coming on all in a rush - wheeee!

MGA has managed to get a few hundred miles on her too. Just keeping an eye on the clouds so we don't get soaked.

Planned on running one of the cars tonight, but its raining.... calls for sun and near 20C later this week.
