car cover for 1970 911
I'm looking for a car cover for when it's sadly time to park the 911 in the garage for the winter, which will be soon. I'm finding covers in the States but does anyone know where to get one in Canada, ideally locally in Ottawa?

Ha ha - if I could I would!
I'm surprised it's so difficult finding a Canadian source for a cover for this car. Any help would be appreciated. If you're interested, here are more photos: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjXPy2dy Last edited by 911T70; 10-28-2014 at 08:24 AM.. Reason: wrong link to photos |

I don't know about finding a good Canadian sourced car cover but my in laws got me the Cover King from our host last year and it's A1...custom fitted for your specific year, one mirror, two mirrors, none, etc.
You've got a few more weeks before winter so mail order away ![]()

I can't believe it - I was reading your '1973 911 redux' thread when I saw your reply! What a coincidence! Awesome work - beautiful car!
I was trying to avoid ordering from the US because I've been stung with ridiculous shipping fees and import charges in the past. I'll see what the total cost will be - might be worth it. The fact that you confirm it's good quality and fits well is reassuring. Thanks! Flurries are in the forecast for this weekend. The 911 might be hibernating sooner than later! |

Make sure you request shipping by USPS........that way you avoid the rediculous fees that UPS like to charge........at worst you should only have to pay the tax.
Beauty car by the way....

Have it delivered to the UPS store in Ogdensburg, fill-up there and it pays for the trip.
Getting Started - Track Ogdensburg or MyUSaddress.caGet a US Address: USA Address for Mail Forwarding & Shipping to Canada Both charge $5 for pick-up.

Thanks again, JJ - you helped me find Swepco transmission fluid a few weeks ago!
I'll definitely look into what you suggested. |

Very nice looking ride - mine's a 70 also - in the midst of a seemingly never-ending rebuild/resto project. I think I suffer from a more than mild case of "while-I-am-in-there-itis".
![]() ![]() Here's a couple of photos from last year. It is presently up on blocks with the front fenders & front suspension removed for eventual re-hab of same. The engine & transaxle are out - the interior gutted to address some rust issues. The engine bay wiring was completely fried. Your photos are inspiring. Thanks for posting. Cheers JB

Thanks for sharing your photos, JB. The exterior looks impeccable. Do you have a build thread? I'd love to follow your progress.
I can't take any credit for my 911 - it was a present from my wife for my 50th last spring. I'd wanted one since I was a teenager and swore I'd get one eventually but had slowly given up on that dream with life setting up obstacles. I had officially given up last winter when I saw the prices of long hoods skyrocket. You can imagine my surprise when she gave it to me! I've been tinkering a lot with the car, fixed a few little problems and did some basic maintenance. Met some great people in Ottawa that have offered help and guidance. The car has been a great experience so far - absolutely love it. Last edited by 911T70; 11-03-2014 at 03:16 PM.. Reason: correction |

For generic covers (like I got and never use) these price are unbeatable.

That's a great idea. I'll check out the cover at Princess Auto to see what it's like - love going there anyway. All I want it for is to protect the 911 from winter traffic in the garage - kids with skis, sleighs, skates, etc... so it'll probably be good enough. The price sure is right! Just have to make sure it won't scratch the paint as it's being put on and taken off cause I'll be doing lots of that during winter!
Thanks a lot guys - really appreciate your help. |

I initially wanted a cover specifically made for my car but after seeing some of the replies here I'll probably just get a generic cover.
Nice garage - very clean and tidy! |
