new to the 911 world

no sure where i should post this so ill put it here, if its in the wrong spot some one please point me to the correct spot.

i have built 15+vw/audi's and now im going to step into the world of the 911. i recently picked up a 1978 911 SC. car has 160,000 miles on it and is in 1 piece but needs a lot of love. the paint is 100% fried, the car seems to have 2 paint jobs on top of the stock paint job. from what i can tell the interior of the car has all its parts and pieces just they have been put thru there paces and are ready for a over haul. in the back of the car im told the tranny has been recently rebuilt but the motor is another story. i discovered while doing a compression check that, 5 of the cylinders have average pressure but 1 of them is way low.

my plans are to.......

1. rebuild the motor

2. toss a descent paint job on the car (has to last 1yr max)

3. freshen up the inside of the car

4. inspect and repair any thing needed on the car so its in proper working order

and this is a big if.........

5. install mega squirt. (big if because im not sure ill have time to do it. but iv got a good amount of the parts for it so i hope i get the time)

iv put many Porsche parts onto vw's this will be the first time i have a Porsche that at some point im sure will get a vw part or to put on it haah.

i have read a lot of info on this site and look forward to getting to learn much more from it.

thanks

Welcome! You will have much more input if you repost this one in the tech forum, it's pretty slow here

Cheers,Steve
