Door Locks 2000 Jeep Noisy
I've got a 2000 Grand Cherokee that has developed very noisy door lock solonoids. In addition the pass door will not not open from the outside. You now have to reach over and move the locking lever forward to get the door to open from outside.
Most recently the drivers door solonoid has also gotten noisy. Has anyone worked on these solonoids? I have read that they require a new coating of lithium grease but don't really know if it is that simple. My other big concern is about getting the door open if the solonoid fails completely and or I screw up reinstalling the solonoid. How in heck will I get the door open as there is no outside keylock and the inside door panel is completly inaccessable after the door is closed. -Don B
