GM has a new HOt Rod

I love Porsches, I own 3 of them. I have hated GM for what they did to me in 1979, ie Olds 98 Diesel. But I just drove a Cadillac V series car today. At $52K its a potential bargain, thats if they didn't do whatever stupid thing they could think of this year at GM. I drove one today and it kicks butt, big time. Its supposed to have 400HP (felt more like 300 in a Porsche or BMW, but it does the 1/4 mile in 13.1seconds) And it Corners and feels like a real car or Porsche. Has room for 4 plus luggage, even comes with a stress bar and Brembo brakes on 14 inch rotors!

I am a loyal Porsche entheuthiest, but GM has at least caught my attention. And why not if you can get the same performance for much less money. Time will tell but maybe Detroit will make a come back yet.

Snowman,
I drove one when they were just introduced. They are fast buggers.
I think GM got this one right. Unfortunately for them, if I had $55,000 to spend on a sedan, it wouldn't be a V Cadillac. I would buy a used M5or M3 and throw some money into it.
They will be worth more in a year's time.

Unfortunately for GM you are probably correct. They have most likely skimped on something, or several things, that will make them less valuable in a couple of years. Thats just the mentality at Detroit.

We went down to the Saturn dealer tonight to check out the VUE. Surprise, surprise, they wouldn't give us sh!# for our Blazer.
I am going to hold out until we pay it off and get the Audi S4 I want.

I took a little BS from my wife's family when I bought the SC. They pretty much have all worked for either GM or Delphi.
It's funny though 'cause their new Chebby 4x4's cost twice what my 911 did!

How about that Chrysler Firepower...

...in the latest Car & Driver? Nothing from Detroit-on-Rhine has quickened my pulse like contemplating that interesting hunk of iron.
