New model number for 'updated' 911?
 

The 996 nine-eleven series is getting a facelift and larger engine for the next model year (and they keep getting uglier IMHO... the attractiveness peaked with the 993)... so will Porsche be changing the internal designation for this model like they did when they changed from the 964 to the 993?

you know, i've wondered that for a while. it seems like they've run out of "9"s. my theory:

in the future they will go to naming conventions like:

"Turbo-7" or "Cabrio-3" or "Targa-5"

seems logical, though it's just a guess.
