Tweeks Funfest

I called Tweeks (Mid America Direct) yesterday to order parts. After i compleated the order I ask for the date of the Porsche fun Fest this year. Ans given was ," We are not havening it this yr" Cancelled! I ask Why responce was " Not enought interest" . So I cancelled my order. "If they don,t support us ,I don't support them" My 2 Cents To bad I always had a good time. Dave

Huh, I thought I read that they were going to lump the Porsche and VW fests together. I'm surprised they dropped them - turn out always seemed pretty good.

NO JOKE

AS i was talking to a order taker at Mid America Direct ( Tweeks) I took him to be dead serious. I would think he was talking a big chance of loseing his job if he was spreading rumors. Call and check your self. Dave

From the Tweeks website.....

Due to the lack of participation in previous years,

Mid America Motorworks has regretfully made the decision not to host Funfest for Porsche in 2006. We sincerely regret any inconvenience to those planning to attend this year.

wow thats really a bummer! as this event was the focal point of my vacation and ive already asked for that week off work.
and this is also the only national event i can afford to travel to.
since its it the same state and only a few hours away i was able to
make an exeption.

Wow, they dropped ONLY the Porsche Fest - they're still hosting the Corvette and VW Fests! That's a slap in the face.

I would be interested! But it might be to late for this year.
unless we could really get a lot of advertizing. maybe if
we could get the current host to sponsor the event it could be possible

It looks like they are having a major clearance on Porsche items...I wonder if they are shutting down the line.

From what I saw last year, the stuff they were selling was just the leftover junk and scratch-dent items. The museum was great, but from what I thought, it was the only thing. To hell with them, I can spend my money and time elsewhere.

R.I.P. Tweeks, they will be out of the Porsche business by the end of the year. They are going ot focus on the Vette stuff now. That's all good by me though, as soon as I found Pelican, I haven't bought from ANYWHERE else. Wayne and the crew support us all, so I support them. As far as looking for something in the midwest to do, travel to the Taj Ma Garaj this year in Ohio.

Effingham (where Mid America Motorworks is based) is a 1.5 hour drive from here. I don't have the budget for longer trips at this point.

me neither, I dont know of any other events near us ether, But if nothing happens this year I would like to partally host something, I have freinds who maintain the local fair grounds, I could talk to them about hosting it, But would have to see some interest before comiting to it.
