The fader can probably be hooked up 6 different ways and still work. The fader switch can also be installed upside down. The diagram shows how the fader was installed in my car with the fader oriented so the red wire was on the right if viewing it from the front of the console....

The information that follows pertains to reinstalling a Blaupunkt Monterey SQR23 back into a 1984 Porsche 911. Other Porsche models should be similar if not exact and the information could also be helpful when replacing a stock unit.
