    My vote would be the torque tube or pilot bearing.
    Being an auto, if the pilot bearing completely fails, it could shred the flex adapter by allowing the torque shaft to wobble around.

    It is interesting though that it doesn't do it with the car on jacks... Let me give it some more though through the day.
