Hey,
Was just reading a mail string from a year ago on 915 gear oil.
Did you find Kendall 80W 90 NSMP local in Atlanta?
I am located south of town but willing to drive to the 'crazy' north if I can find it.
Recently purchased a '79 911SC Targa. 103,000 miles
1st and 2nd are difficult to engage. Per Pete Z probably syncro but wanted to try oil change 1st.
Was leaning to a synthetic the my shop recommends, BP products Syncro Shift with additive. Shop swears by it. Used in Porsche, Benz, BMW…on and on. But thought I would go with the dino for 1st option.
Thanks,
Danny
The cost was $180 for both gauges. I kept the original 7K limit because I wanted to keep the same sweep of the neelde. I've seen them made 8K-10K, but that would compress the needle movement a bit and would have entailed an extra charge for recalibration. Not sure how much that would have been, but I thought the price I paid was a bargain considering the workmanship.
